Usage Metrics and Analytics
In production App Store releases, FactoryLog may collect basic usage and technical information, including:
• App sessions, engagement and screen views.
• Sign-in method, such as Apple, Google or email.
• Use of Explore Demo.
• Creation of broad record types, such as assets or parts.
• Invitation methods, subscription selections and purchase outcomes.
• App version, operating-system version, device model and broad regional information.
Our custom analytics events do not include user-entered factory names, notes, search text, email addresses, Account IDs, industrial network addresses or photos. Analytics providers may process technical identifiers and network information to deliver their services. FactoryLog does not use analytics for cross-app tracking or personalised advertising.
Support Communications
When you choose Email Support, FactoryLog prepares an email that may include your Account ID, account email, app version, build number, device type and operating-system version.
You can review, edit or remove this information before sending it. We also receive information you choose to include in your support request.
Collection Methods
Information is collected when you:
• Create or sign in to an account.
• Create, edit, import or delete records.
• Upload or remove photos.
• Create or join a workspace.
• Manage invitations and team access.
• Purchase, restore or manage a subscription.
• Use app features or Explore Demo.
• Contact support.
Authentication, analytics and subscription-status information may also be received from Google and Apple services.
Utilisation of Data
We use information to:
• Authenticate users and protect accounts.
• Provide cloud synchronisation and reliable app operation.
• Support offline functionality and pending changes.
• Manage workspace access and permissions.
• Verify subscriptions and other access rights.
• Provide support and resolve technical problems.
• Understand usage and improve FactoryLog.
• Prevent misuse and maintain service security.
• Meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
FactoryLog does not sell personal information. We do not use your industrial records or photos for advertising.
External Service Providers
FactoryLog uses third-party services to operate the app:
• Google services, including Firebase, support authentication, database and file storage, synchronisation and analytics.
• Apple services support Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and subscription management.
Records, cached photos and pending changes may also be stored on your iPhone or iPad to support performance and offline use.
Service providers may process information in Australia or other countries where they operate. Their processing is subject to their privacy terms and applicable safeguards.
Information Sharing and Access
Information is shared with service providers as reasonably necessary for authentication, storage, synchronisation, analytics, purchases and related app functions.
Authorised workspace members can access shared information according to their roles. Company records may remain available to the team after a member leaves or deletes their account.
Workspace owners are responsible for inviting appropriate people and managing access. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect users or investigate misuse.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide FactoryLog, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and preserve shared company records.
Some deleted industrial records may be retained in an inactive state for recovery or synchronisation. Temporary cached or backup copies may also remain.
Deleting Your Account
You can initiate permanent account deletion in the app under Settings → Account Actions → Delete Account. The option is also available on the no-site and subscription-required screens.
You do not need an active subscription or to contact support to initiate deletion.
If you own a shared site, transfer ownership to another member before deleting your account. This preserves the company’s records for the remaining team.
If you are the only member of a site, delete that site and its stored data before completing account deletion.
Backups Are Recommended, Not Required
We strongly recommend saving the backup offered before deleting a sole-member site. You may instead choose Delete Site Without Backup and confirm permanent deletion.
Declining a backup does not prevent you from continuing with account deletion.
What Account Deletion Removes
Account deletion removes your FactoryLog login, memberships and account records. Shared company records remain available to other authorised members. Cleanup removes account identifiers and known account-email references from those records.
Automatic cleanup does not identify every personal name, free-form note or photograph containing personal information. Copies previously exported by other authorised users may remain outside FactoryLog’s control.
For help with personal information remaining in shared records, contact support@factorylog.com.au. Contacting support is not required to initiate account deletion.
If you use Sign in with Apple, you will be asked to verify your identity so FactoryLog can revoke its Sign in with Apple access.
Processing and Local Copies
If cleanup is interrupted, FactoryLog retains the information needed to retry and attempts cleanup automatically every 30 minutes. Completion may take longer during a service outage. The app reports when a deletion request remains pending.
Cached records, photos or queued changes on your device may remain until cleared by the app or the app is removed. Removing the app alone does not delete your FactoryLog account or its remote data.
Information required by applicable law may be retained for that purpose.
Subscriptions
Deleting your FactoryLog account or removing the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.
To stop future renewals, cancel through your Apple Account subscription settings. The account-deletion screen provides a Manage or Cancel Subscription link.
We recommend cancelling before deleting your account, but cancellation is not a prerequisite. You can delete your account without waiting for your subscription to expire.
Security Measures
We use access controls, encrypted network connections and service-provider security features to protect information. No electronic system can guarantee absolute security.
Protect your device and sign-in credentials, keep your software current and manage workspace access carefully.
Minors
FactoryLog is intended for professional industrial record keeping and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or request deletion of personal information, or raise a privacy complaint.
Use the in-app process described above to delete your FactoryLog account. For other privacy requests or help with a failed request, email support@factorylog.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal information.
We will respond within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable requirements. You may also have the right to contact your local privacy regulator. In Australia, this is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Policy Revisions
We may update this policy when our services or practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or website.
